Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prep the Foundation Melons: Start by tackling your melons. Cut the watermelon, honeydew, and cantaloupe into clean, uniform shapes. You can slice them into elegant triangles with the rind left on to act as handles, or use a melon baller for a high-end look. Arrange these larger pieces first on your serving tray, using them to create structural rows, waves, or borders.
- Layer the Crisp Accents: Slice the Asian pear into thin, delicate fans (toss them with a tiny splash of lemon juice to prevent browning). Halve the small oranges or kumquats to showcase their beautiful interiors. Scatter the sour plums, grape clusters, and pear fans into the open spaces left by the melons to build height and dimension.
- Fill the Gaps with Berries: Take your blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries and tuck them into any remaining empty pockets on the tray. Use them like colorful confetti to fill gaps so that the base of the platter is completely hidden.
- Style with Cheese & Toothpicks: Cut your cheese slices into neat squares or triangles. Thread a piece of cheese and a choice berry (like a blackberry or strawberry half) onto your fancy toothpicks. Plant these toothpicks strategically into the melon bases around the tray to add structural height and a gourmet savory-sweet element.
- The Final Restaurant Garnish: Scatter your fresh, vibrant edible flowers (like violas) across the top of the fruit layout. Step back, admire your colorful masterpiece, and serve to your amazed guests immediately!

Ingredients
Method
- Prep the Foundation Watermelon: Start by cutting your watermelon both end and 2 more cuts on both side of the body. Imagine we want to cut this whole watermelon into square shape. Once we get the square shape watermelon without any peel left, Arrange these larger pieces first on your serving tray, using them to create structural rows, or borders. Now ,on the peel that you cut it out has some watermelon meat left in there, use a melon baller for a high-end look and scoop all the meat out of the peel ( No waste at all). The watermelon balls that you get from the peel, put them on the side of the serving tray.
- Create the Melon and Cantaloupe Bowl: Cut about 2 inches thick on Both end of Honey Dew Melon and Cantaloupe, peel all of the skin out and we will get 4 natural bowl for our 4 corners of the serving tray.
- Cut up the rest of Melon and Cantaloupes: Cut the rest(body) of your melon and cantaloupe into 4 pieces lengthwise, peel the skin and remove all the seeds, You will get 4 slices of each melon and cantaloupe, Use only 2 slices of each for the tray and save the other 2 slices for your fridge for confusing later on. So the one for the tray, cut up into thin slices or bite size pieces and put them onto the side of serving tray.
- Fill the gap with grapes and berries: Take your blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and put them on top of our melon bowls all 4 corners. Then Fill up the tray with grapes , cut up strawberries, kiwi, Kumquads, Asian pears, or any kind of fruits that you like and tuck them into any remaining empty pockets on the tray. Use them like colorful confetti to fill gaps so that the base of the platter is completely hidden.
- Style with Cheese & Toothpicks: Cut your cheese slices into neat squares or triangles. Thread a piece of cheese and a choice berry (like a blackberry) onto your fancy toothpicks. Plant these toothpicks strategically into the watermelon bases in the center to add structural height and a gourmet savory-sweet element.
- The Final Restaurant Garnish: Scatter your fresh, vibrant edible flowers (like violas) across the top of the fruit layout. Step back, admire your colorful masterpiece, Chill the tray for at least 2 hours and serve to your amazed guests!
