Easy Ham & Split Pea Soup

- 1 medium onion chopped
- Drizzle of Olive Oil
- 1 garlic clove finely chopped
- 1 celery stalk chopped
- 1 carrot diced
- 1 Cup of Diced Ham
- 1 lb green split peas well rinsed
- Seasoning :
- 1 Teaspoon of Salt
- 0.5 Teaspoon of Pepper
- 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Onion Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon of Cumin
- 4 Cups of Chicken Stock
- 6 Cups of Water
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice optional
Add 1 medium chopped onion, sautéed in a pan with drizzle of olive oil
Add 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
Add 1 celery stalk, chopped, 1 carrot, diced, 1 Cup of Diced Ham, Stir for couple minutes.
Add 1 lb green split peas, well rinsed
Seasoning with, 1 Teaspoon of Salt, 0.5 Teaspoon of Pepper, 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder, 1 Teaspoon of Onion Powder, 1/4 Teaspoon of Cumin, 4 Cups of Chicken Stock, 4 Cups of Water, Cover and simmer for 40 minutes.
Stir after 20 minutes to prevent sticking.
After 40 minutes, stir well and add 2 cups of water (or broth) as needed to reach your desired consistency.
Add 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (optional)
Cover and simmer for the final 10 minutes.
